Seeking Support
By helping a client to slow down, they can see the strengths they have built on to get them to this point.
For someone seeking support, this “stuck” point is obviously a horrible place to be right now and hence needing to seek help. I have worked through a lot of these personally to get to the stage of being able to sit in the other chair. So, I know that “stuck” feeling all too well. It doesn’t last forever!
For someone who is seeking help this shows an awareness of the following:
Not needing to have all the answers right now is ok
An openness to the ideas of the outside world
How new ideas can promote change for a person
A sense that change is possible and that where they are at right now is not somewhere they will always be
And that is enough for right now. For anyone who knows this stuckness, in whatever form it takes; Anxiety, Depression, Grief or Anger etc.
Know that seeking support is the first step in accepting that;
Where you are at is a bit too much for one person to carry right now.
You can give yourself a chance to grow when you seek answers in different ways.
